Documents you will need

Study permit

  • Letter of acceptance (LOA) from a designated learning institution. You cannot apply for a study permit without it.
  • Other documents depend on your case. IRCC lists them.
  • From 1 January 2026, a master's or doctoral student at a public institution does not need a provincial or territorial attestation letter. Quebec applicants must still meet that province's requirements.
